After Ford Multinational Denies Intent to Sell Troller Factory in Ceará, Companies Want to Buy It at All Costs Even if a New Brand Is Created
The difficulty of selling the Troller factory in Ceará is set to enter a new phase, considering that according to Governor Camilo Santana (PT), the companies interested in buying the factory have expressed willingness to continue negotiations even if a new brand is created, in light of Ford’s position to deny the sale of the domain over Troller vehicles.

The announcement was made through a live broadcast on social networks this Tuesday (17). The governor of Ceará emphasized that in a meeting with Daniel Justo, president of Ford in South America, the state made a request for the company to continue negotiations for the sale of the Troller production line in Ceará.
Camilo noted that the meeting was long and filled with considerations from representatives of Ford and governmental entities from Ceará. The governor also stated that a request was made for the company to reconsider its decision not to sell the Troller brand, as this would complicate the purchase of the factory in the state even further.

There was no progress in negotiations, but Camilo stated that the companies that had shown interest in buying the Troller factory contacted the State to reinforce their interest in continuing the purchase agreement even without Ford’s participation.
Factory Sale Negotiations Are Suspended
According to Camilo, the negotiations will continue from this point and have the full commitment of Ceará and its team to ensure a good negotiation that guarantees the factory’s functionality.
With the new position of the interested parties in the purchase, the discussions for selling the plant, which were suspended after the multinational’s decision not to sell Troller, should be urgently resumed. Maia Júnior, Secretary of Economic Development and Labor, reaffirmed what Camilo said and stated that the state tried to negotiate with the two main assets that attracted investors, namely Troller and the product, which is the Jeep.
With Ford’s denial, the State is trying to negotiate both the employees and the machines, but without a deadline to be met with the company. In Maia’s understanding, the negotiation has already ended and there is nothing more to discuss with Ford, as the company remains inflexible.
Troller Factory Has 500 Employees
The vehicle plant in Horizonte was put up for sale following Ford’s decision to end all its operations in Brazil. With approximately 500 employees, the plant represents an important hub in the development of Ceará, and its preservation has been the focus of efforts from various parties.
Last month, four buyers expressed interest in negotiating with Ford to continue Troller production in Ceará. The final decision on the sale depended on the multinational, which did not finalize a contract with any interested party.
