The New Factory Of Suzano In The State Of Mato Grosso Do Sul
The official launch of the new pulp mill was made in May of this year. The plant will have a capacity to produce 2.3 million tons of eucalyptus pulp per year. The investment for the implementation of the unit is R$ 14.7 billion and is expected to generate 13,000 jobs, with 10,000 during construction and 3,000 when it goes into operation.

About The Suzano Project
On May 13, Suzano announced that it will build a new factory in Ribas do Rio Pardo, located 100 km from the capital of Mato Grosso do Sul. The company, considered a global reference in the manufacture of bioproducts developed from eucalyptus cultivation, will invest about R$ 14.7 billion in the project, possibly generating many jobs for the region during construction. With this investment, the project will be one of the largest ongoing private investments in Brazil.
Suzano’s new unit, named “Project Cerrado” in reference to its geographical location in Mato Grosso do Sul, will increase the company’s current pulp production capacity by approximately 20%. Furthermore, the factory in Ribas do Rio Pardo will be the company’s most competitive facility.
Walter Schalka, CEO of Suzano, states that this new factory will represent an important advancement in the company’s long-term strategy. He also emphasizes that the new unit in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul will also bring a significant contribution to income and job generation for the region, as well as to carbon capture capacity resulting from expanding the forestry base.
