With the new law, shopping malls will no longer operate on Sundays, similar to supermarkets; the rule imposes closure by 9 PM, foresees a fine of R$ 15,000, suspension, and even revocation of the license in Salvador.

Only 7 ships have crossed the Strait of Hormuz in the last 24 hours when the normal is 135 per day, and the United Arab Emirates confirms that 230 oil tankers loaded with oil are ready to depart but are prevented from leaving while Iran turns the waterway into a sovereign control post.

Trump sent a treaty on critical minerals to Lula in early 2026, and the document is sitting in the president’s drawer unsigned because the Brazilian government considers the proposal too generic and refuses to turn the country into a mere exporter of raw materials.

R$ 7 billion forgotten in the FGTS may finally be released after failures in the 2025 measures, while millions of workers find out they may have unclaimed money.
The event marks the launch of the HSDW LatAm platform, developed by the company to support the Unique Foreign Trade Portal (Siscomex), for product registration and monitoring of attributes and fiscal classification, according to the new format being implemented by the Federal Revenue Service.
“The focus of the discussion will be the transition from what is currently being used to what will be used regarding the fiscal classification of products. The objective of the event is to provide participating companies with information about the transitional phase we are experiencing with the portal and to raise awareness about the importance of starting to work on adapting their products for the new import scenario”, explained Fabio Rabelo, CEO of RGC.
The expectation is that the new Unique Foreign Trade Portal will begin to operate definitively in 2024. “Companies need to be ready for when the portal starts operating definitively with 100% of Foreign Trade operations within the Revenue Service’s website. For this, they will need an appropriate platform that meets the specifications of the Unique Portal, and the event aligns with that”, Rabelo points out.
The Siscomex Unique Portal is conceived within the “Single Window” approach, created by the World Customs Organization to facilitate transactions in international trade. Developed by the federal government to integrate information and processes related to foreign trade in Brazil. Essentially, it is a single interface used by government bodies and Foreign Trade operators. The main objective of the portal is to promote deregulation, modernization, security, and efficiency, in addition to unifying all information regarding importation, exportation, and customs control, to avoid duplications in data attachment.
Volvo
Volvo, one of the largest manufacturers of trucks, buses, construction equipment, marine and industrial engines, has been advised by RGC since 2007 for technical analyses of fiscal classification and ex-tariff regimes. The company will be the first to integrate the HSDW LatAm into its transition and monitoring process for the Unique Portal, fully connected with ERP and Foreign Trade systems.
The integration, security, and compliance resources of HSDW LatAm will make a significant difference when the Unique Portal environment is fully operational. The case will be presented at the event.
