The Equipment to Be Installed by Valmet at the Bracell Factory in São Paulo
The supplies from Valmet for Bracell’s pulp factory, which is expected to begin operations in the second half of this year, include a black liquor evaporation plant with a capacity to evaporate 3,500 tons of water per hour, a white liquor caustification plant with a capacity of 31,000 cubic meters per day, two lime kilns powered by biogas with a production capacity of 1,200 tons per day, and two biomass gasification plants with a capacity of 87 thermal megawatts each.
In the black liquor evaporation structure, Valmet also supplied for the Bracell factory in São Paulo, a technology called TUBEL in the concentrators and first effects of the plant. This technology allows the liquor to flow on the outside of the tubes – a more robust and reliable solution on the market due to its characteristic of not clogging and maintaining the plant’s high availability. Additionally, 100% of the capacity of the lime kilns will be supplied by the gases from the biomass gasification, which significantly reduces production costs and CO2 emissions. This is the first time that South America will receive such technology in the sector.
