Distance Learning Specialization in Public Management with Recognized Certificate
The postgraduate program has been structured to qualify professionals who work or intend to work in public management, with content focused on public policies, governmental administration, and institutional strengthening.
This is a lato sensu training, with a recognized certificate, offered by a federal university and with no tuition or enrollment fees.
The minimum workload is 360 hours, spread over approximately 18 months, which already includes the development of the Course Completion Work.
Academic activities are carried out in a Virtual Learning Environment, which requires students to have regular internet access to attend classes, materials, and other tasks outlined in the schedule.
Locations in Minas Gerais Organize the Distribution of Slots
The 150 available spots are evenly divided among five locations in Minas Gerais.
Each municipality has 30 slots, as defined in the UFJF announcement.
The participating locations for this offer are Andrelândia, Barroso, Confins, Conselheiro Lafaiete, and Ilicínea.
Although the course is developed remotely, attachment to the location is mandatory and is part of the academic and administrative organization of the specialization.
This model follows the standard adopted by the Open University of Brazil system and is common in courses offered by federal institutions in the EAD format.
Priority for Public Servants in the Selection Process
The announcement establishes priority for active public servants, whether municipal, state, or federal.
The aim is to preferentially serve professionals already working in the public sector who seek technical and academic improvement for the exercise of management functions.
If the slots are not fully filled by this audience, candidates from the open competition will also be called.
In this case, individuals with a bachelor’s degree recognized by the MEC may compete, regardless of their field of study.
In addition to the degree, it is necessary to meet technical requirements for participating in remote activities, especially concerning internet access.
All required documentation must be submitted at the time of registration in a single file, in PDF format.
Letter of Intent and Curriculum Define the Classification
The selection process consists of two phases, with a maximum score of 100 points.
The first stage is the analysis of the letter of intent, which carries more weight in the classification.
In this phase, the committee evaluates the relationship between the candidate’s professional background and the objectives of the specialization in Public Management.
The second stage is the curriculum analysis, which mainly considers professional experience, with special attention to activities developed in the public sector.
According to the planned distribution, the letter of intent is worth up to 60 points, while the curriculum can add up to 40 points.
The final result of the selection process is expected to be announced on February 26, 2026, according to the schedule released by the university.
How to Register for the UFJF Specialization
Registration is free and must be done exclusively online. In the electronic form, the applicant must attach the required documentation in a single PDF file and indicate the Minas Gerais location they wish to be linked to.
