New Renault Kardian Delivers 125 Horsepower
At first glance, it may seem like just a new generation of the Stepway, but in fact, the new Renault SUV inaugurates a series of innovations from the brand in the country. The model has a new platform in Brazil, the RGMP. This platform allows for the application of various powertrains, including hybrid systems, and the development of vehicles with various lengths and wheelbases.
The electronic architecture of the platform allows for the integration of conventional and hybrid propulsion systems, ensuring flexibility and adaptability for the future. Thus, the new Renault Kardian is a more advanced car than the family, Sandero, Duster, and Kwid.

Another innovation is the unprecedented turbo TCe 1.0 flex engine with 125 horsepower, which offers great performance and fuel efficiency, achieving up to 13.9 km/l. This is a late response from Renault to the rival TSI blocks from Volkswagen, T200 from Fiat, T-GDI from Hyundai, and 1.0 Turbo from GM. To compensate, the TCe offers 220 Nm of torque.
This measurement is directly related to the car’s strength. In the new Renault SUV, the torque is above that of its rivals, which could be an advantage in sales. Finally, the new Renault Kardian also offers a novelty in transmission: the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This equipment ensures quick gear shifts, common in high-performance cars.
