The Brazilian Traffic Code Offers the Possibility of Up to 40% Discount on Fines. See How It Works and How You Can Take Advantage of This Benefit
Vehicle owners who register in the Electronic Notification System (SNE) or who have the Digital Traffic License (CDT) can obtain up to 40% discount on traffic fines. This measure aims to facilitate the payment of fines for those who take responsibility for the offense committed and waive the right to present a defense or appeal.
To qualify for the discount on traffic fines, the offender must acknowledge the offense, not contest it, and adhere to the SNE. The process is simple: just download the Digital Traffic License app, register, and select the INFRACTIONS option, adhering to the SNE.
It is important to remember that the 40% discount is only valid until the due date of the fine, as stipulated in articles 284 and 282-A of the Brazilian Traffic Code (CTB).

How the Electronic Notification System Works
The Electronic Notification System (SNE) is a digital platform managed by the National Traffic Department (SENATRAN), which allows for the electronic sending of notifications and documents regarding traffic violations. Enrollment in the system can be done through the Digital Traffic License app or the Senatran Services Portal, facilitating access to information and the regularization of interstate penalties.
Additionally, registration in the SNE can be done by individuals or legal entities, including those who do not have a National Driver’s License (CNH). In these cases, registration is done using the National Vehicle Registration Number (RENAVAM). This flexibility expands access to the system and ensures that more vehicle owners can benefit from the discount on traffic fines.
The discount on traffic fines is an incentive for drivers to regularize their situations quickly and efficiently, contributing to improved management of traffic violations in Brazil.
