Equinor’s Operations in Bacalhau, in the Santos Basin, Will Be Revolutionized with the Installation of the Gigantic Gas Lift Manifold Submarine Equipment
Equinor, a leading energy enterprise, has reached a significant milestone in the Bacalhau field, located in the pre-salt of the Santos Basin. The company announced today the completion of a crucial stage in the project’s offshore campaign, with the successful installation of a gigantic submarine equipment known as the Gas Lift Manifold. This Equinor technology will play a key role in the operation of the floating production storage and offloading unit (FPSO) tasked with production in Bacalhau, in the Santos Basin, according to the Petroticias website.
The Gas Lift Manifold submarine in the Santos Basin primarily aims to stabilize the pressure of fluids not only during the wells’ startup but also during the different life phases of the field. This will ensure the safe and efficient lifting of fluids to the surface. Weighing around 170 tons and with impressive dimensions of 16 meters long, 9 meters wide, and 4 meters high, Equinor’s submarine equipment in the Santos Basin is equivalent to the size of two large trucks placed side by side.
Equinor’s Teamwork and Logistical Complexity
The installation of this high-complexity submarine equipment in the Santos Basin required the work of a dedicated multidisciplinary team from Equinor, ensuring the safe completion of the GL Manifold for the arrival of the Bacalhau FPSO. Equinor highlighted the team’s efforts in a LinkedIn post, emphasizing the importance of this achievement for the project.

The Bacalhau consortium is composed of Equinor (40%), ExxonMobil Brasil (40%), Petrogal Brasil (20%), and Pré-Sal Petróleo S.A. (PPSA), which manages the production-sharing contract. This field represents the first project in the pre-salt fully developed by an international oil company. It is expected that the first oil from the Bacalhau FPSO, which is already 90% completed, will be produced in 2025. The submarine equipment will have a capacity to produce 220,000 barrels per day.

Basta acompanhar os números oficiais do ministério da fazenda (ou economia, como queira) para constatar que a expansão da base monetária gira entorno de 20% a.a. Para os menos atentos, isto quer dizer, diretamente, que e a inflação real não é o que o IPCA mede, mas sim o próprio percentual do dinheiro circulante que o governo está imprimindo a mais todos os anos. Temos que refletir se é justo que este mesmo Estado que brinca de imprimir papel moeda seja considerado competente para ser detentor de todo e qualquer direito exploratório de um recurso natural tão valioso. Você confiaria teu bem mais valioso à pessoas de caráter, no mínimo, duvidoso? Você confiaria o futuro da tua família, dos teus pais e filhos a uma pessoa cuja conduta não se pode atestar a integridade? Sem fazer juízo de valor de Direita ou Esquerda, lembre-se que o Sistema vive pelo interesse próprio, e não pelo bem comum.
