High-pressure steam technology, quick heating, and smart modes redefine clothing care in the home environment, with a proposal for more efficiency, practicality, and automation in daily life, expanding Xiaomi’s smart home ecosystem with a compact and functional device.

Xiaomi introduced the Mijia Ironing Machine 2 in China, a new device for clothing care that relies on high-pressure steam, quick heating, and automatic adjustments for different fabrics.

The product entered the brand’s crowdfunding platform with a promotional price of 509 yuan, while the suggested regular sale price was set at 599 yuan.

According to the exchange rates consulted this week, this corresponds to about R$ 381 and R$ 449, respectively.

Powerful steam and high technical performance

The main selling point of the launch lies in the technical specifications.

According to Xiaomi, the device operates with 500 kPa pressure and delivers a continuous steam flow of 120 grams per minute, a combination that aims to improve steam penetration into fibers and accelerate wrinkle removal in lightweight pieces as well as in thicker fabrics.

The brand also states that the system uses dual heating to maintain performance more stably during use.

Another noteworthy point is the preparation time.

The manufacturer claims that the Mijia Ironing Machine 2 takes 65 seconds to heat up, a timeframe that places the product in the category of devices aimed at household routines, where speed often weighs as much as power.

In practice, the proposal is to reduce the time between turning on the device and starting to iron clothes, something that usually influences the daily user experience.

Smart modes and adaptation to fabrics

Xiaomi also focused part of the launch speech on automation.

The device offers six smart usage modes, calibrated for materials such as cotton, silk, wool, linen, synthetic fibers, and mixed fabrics.

The idea is to reduce the need for manual adjustments and, at the same time, minimize the risk of inappropriate application of heat or steam on more sensitive pieces.

This type of feature aligns with a broader movement by the company in its line of appliances, which has sought to incorporate simplified controls and automated functions into everyday products.

In the case of the Mijia Ironing Machine 2, the focus is less on transforming the act of ironing into something new and more on making the process more predictable, with quick mode selection and less margin for error during household use.

In addition to adjustments by fabric, the device can be used in different positions.

Reports about the launch indicate that the proposal includes steam application in both vertical and horizontal tasks, which expands the types of pieces that can be treated without relying solely on a traditional ironing board.

This format is often associated with shirts, dresses, coats, and hard-to-reach areas, such as collars, cuffs, and regions near buttons.

Design, reservoir, and user experience

In the product design, the manufacturer included a visible water reservoir and a body designed for relatively portable use within the home.

The published descriptions about the launch indicate sufficient capacity to care for up to 15 pieces per refill, although this yield depends on the type of fabric and the level of wrinkling.

The presence of a display with real-time information reinforces the attempt to bring the device closer to a more guided and less improvised experience.

The contact area of the device also appears as an important part of the proposal.

Media outlets that reported on the presentation informed that the model uses a ceramic-coated ironing panel, a solution adopted to improve sliding over the fabric and better distribute heat during use.

Although this type of finish is not new in the segment, it helps explain why Xiaomi has positioned the product as a more complete alternative than simpler portable steamers.

In the material released, the brand also mentions functions associated with steam sanitization, with a sterilization rate of 99.99%.

This data often appears in appliances of the category, but the documentation for similar products from Xiaomi emphasizes that results of this type vary according to usage time, fabric thickness, and real operating conditions.

Therefore, the most immediate practical utility of the device remains centered on finishing pieces and not on replacing specific cleaning processes.

Price, launch, and availability

The debut will first occur in the Chinese market through Xiaomi’s crowdfunding platform, with a scheduled start on April 6, 2026.

So far, there has been no official announcement of international availability.

This means that any sales outside of China, for now, depend on parallel import channels or a future global launch, which has not yet been confirmed by the company.

The launch helps to show how Xiaomi continues to expand its connected home and household utility portfolio beyond the more well-known products, such as smartphones, vacuum cleaners, and purifiers.

In this context, the Mijia Ironing Machine 2 arrives as a bet on convenience, power, and automation applied to a common routine task, focusing on consumers looking to reduce preparation time and simplify care for different types of fabric.
