The Announcement Of The Package Of Works And Investments At The Itaqui Port Was Made By The Government Of Maranhão And The Works Should Ensure That By 2025 There Will Be An Increase In The Handling Of Cargoes Within The Port Terminal

Flávio Dino, Governor Of The State Of Maranhão, announced that a package of over R$ 500 million invested in works will be executed at the Itaqui Port terminal, located in the Bacanga region, in the capital São Luís. The announcement was made by the governor during a visit to the Itaqui Port last Wednesday (23). On that occasion, Flávio Dino signed service orders and then launched the action notices. The works announced by the governor of Maranhão are part of the strategic plan of the Maranhão Port Administration Company – Emap, which has the main goal of increasing the cargo handling capacity within the port, raising it to over 40 million tons per year by 2025.

According To Lago, Under The Administration Of Governor Flávio Dino, The Itaqui Port Has Begun To Experience A New Concept Of Rapid Growth, Not To Mention The Investments Made Over The Past Few Years. Lago Also Stated That There Are Over R$ 2 Billion In Public And Private Investments.

The President Of Emap Also Spoke About The Works That Are Already Being Delivered Within The Port And Made A Point Of Highlighting The Government Of Maranhão’s Initiative To Announce A Program Of Over R$ 500 Million In Investments That Will Be Applied In The Coming Years.

Included In The Investments Are Deepening Dredging, The Construction Of A New Berth Number 98, Repairs To The Buildings That Serve As Operational Support, As Well As The Access Gates, Road Infrastructure, And Adjustments To The Sewage System Within The Port Polygon. Other Beneficiaries Will Be The Ferryboat Terminals Of Ponta Da Espera (São Luís) And Cujupe (Alcântara, Interior Of Maranhão), Which Will Have Their Ramps Widened.

Suzano Pulp And Paper Will Also Be Part Of The Government Of Maranhão’s Package Of Works

Manager Raquel Murad, Who Is Part Of The Corporate Relations Of The Suzano Pulp And Paper Unit Located Within The Itaqui Port, Spoke About The Importance Of This Package Of Actions Promoted By The Government Of Maranhão. Murad Reported That It Is A Great Pleasure To Be Concluding The Itaqui Project, Which Will Be Part Of The Consolidation Of Pulp Exports In Maranhão.

The Manager Of Corporate Relations Also Spoke About The Exclusive Berth For Suzano, Which Aids In The Export Of Products From The Suzano Manufacturing Unit Within The Port Terminal, As Well As A Warehouse That Ensures All Storage And Successful Export Of Products, With Peace Of Mind And Safety.

Taking Advantage Of His Visit To The Itaqui Port, The Governor Of Maranhão Inspected The Structural Recovery Works Of Berths 103 And 106, The Overhaul And Modernization Of The Entire Electrical System In Substations 1, 2, And 3, And Also Inspected The Emergency Response Base At The Ponta Da Espera Ferry Terminal.
