The Announcement Of The Package Of Works And Investments At The Itaqui Port Was Made By The Government Of Maranhão And The Works Should Ensure That By 2025 There Will Be An Increase In The Handling Of Cargoes Within The Port Terminal
Flávio Dino, Governor Of The State Of Maranhão, announced that a package of over R$ 500 million invested in works will be executed at the Itaqui Port terminal, located in the Bacanga region, in the capital São Luís. The announcement was made by the governor during a visit to the Itaqui Port last Wednesday (23). On that occasion, Flávio Dino signed service orders and then launched the action notices. The works announced by the governor of Maranhão are part of the strategic plan of the Maranhão Port Administration Company – Emap, which has the main goal of increasing the cargo handling capacity within the port, raising it to over 40 million tons per year by 2025.
