‘Receiving the Support of the President of the Republic for the Renewal of Reporto Is a Great Achievement for the Port Sector’, Celebrated the CEO of ABTP
Yesterday afternoon (02/07), the CEO of the Brazilian Association of Port Terminals (ABTP), Jesualdo Silva, and other representatives of the port and railway sectors, met with President Jair Bolsonaro in Brasília to discuss the need for the renewal of Reporto.

During the meeting, the president stated that he supports the repeal of the veto to the special regime before Congress. Reporto was approved by lawmakers at the end of 2021, along with PL 4.199/2020, the BR of the Sea, but received a veto from the federal executive at the beginning of this year.
Benefit, Supported by President Bolsonaro, Has Been Fundamental in Stimulating Private Investment in the Port and Railway Sectors
Reporto is a special tax regime that exempts the acquisition of essential machines and equipment for the port and railway sectors. Created in 2004, the benefit has been fundamental in stimulating private investment aimed at modernizing both sectors.

Also participating in the meeting with President Bolsonaro were the Minister of Infrastructure, Tarcísio de Freitas, the CEO of ATP, Murillo Barbosa, the President of Fenop, Sérgio Aquino, the Executive Director of ANTF, Fernando Paes, and the President of ABIFER, Vicente Abate.
