Federal Government Public Competition Offers Unmissable Opportunities for IT Professionals in Digital Transformation Projects under the Startup GOV.BR Program – Applications Open!

The Federal Government has announced the opening of applications for a new public competition in the IT sector with 200 temporary positions for Information Technology professionals. To participate in the Federal Government public competition, candidates must meet specific requirements. It is necessary to prove a bachelor’s degree in any area and have at least five years of professional experience in Information and Communication Technology, Data Science, Public Administration, Communication, Business Administration, Information Science, or Engineering. Alternatively, master’s or doctoral degrees in the same fields are also accepted.

Recently, the announcement was updated to include some changes. The positions for UX (User Experience) now accept candidates graduated in Design and Social Sciences, while the positions for Data Science have expanded to include the fields of Statistics and Accounting. These updates broaden the possibilities for various professionals interested in the competition in the IT sector.

Distribution of Positions in the IT Sector Competition

The IT sector competition offers a total of 200 positions, distributed across the following areas of expertise:

  • Information Security and Data Protection Specialist — 20 positions
  • Business Process Analysis Specialist — 30 positions
  • User Experience (UX) Specialist — 15 positions
  • Data Science Specialist — 35 positions
  • Software Development Specialist — 40 positions
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Specialist — 15 positions
  • Project Management Specialist — 45 positions

The candidates approved in the public competition will have a weekly workload of 40 hours and will be linked to the Digital Government Secretariat of the Ministry of Management and Innovation (MGI), in Brasília-DF.

Roles of New Employees, Salaries, and Benefits

Selected professionals will be integrated into the Startup GOV.BR program, a strategy of the federal government aimed at supporting and driving digital transformation projects.

Currently, the program has 18 active startups working on important initiatives such as Digital FGTS, SIGACrim System, implementation of the National Electronic Process (PEN) in states and municipalities, as well as modernization of the Unified Register for Social Programs (CadÚnico). In addition to these, there are six other startups in the development process.

The hired professionals will receive a salary of R$ 8,300.00, plus a food allowance. The selection process is being coordinated by the AOCP Institute and was authorized due to the temporary need of exceptional public interest.
