GSA Alimentos Announces Construction of Its New Factory in MG, Expected to Generate 450 Direct and Indirect Jobs in the Coming Months

GSA Alimentos Will Begin Renovation Works at Its Factory Located in Ouro Preto (MG) in Less Than a Month; It Is Estimated That Around 150 Jobs Will Be Created. After the Works, 300 New Positions Will Be Created, Totaling 450 Opportunities.

GSA Alimentos will begin the renovation and adaptation works of its vitamin and dietary supplement factory, located in the Industrial Park of Cachoeira do Campo, in Ouro Preto (MG). The works will create around 150 direct jobs during the construction phase and an additional 300 when completed; the announcement was made during the signing of the contract and the handing over of keys between the municipality’s city hall and GSA Alimentos.

GSA Alimentos Promises to Generate Hundreds of Jobs at Its Factory

According to information from the Secretary of Economic Development, Innovation, and Technology, the factory works will be carried out by GSA Alimentos itself. The company’s engineers will conduct a technical visit later this week to determine the jobs that will be filled for civil construction. At the end of the works at the factory in MG, the company estimates that more than 300 direct jobs will be created, with 60% of these opportunities aimed at women.

To meet this need, the company will partner with schools to provide training for young apprentices and first-time job seekers in the community. According to Nino Gomes, co-owner of GSA Alimentos, the renovation works at the factory in MG will start in about 29 days.

Gomes emphasized that the opportunities are not yet open because they are awaiting the definition of the roles that will be filled. Once defined, the positions will be offered through SINE with a preference for hiring local residents in MG. New GSA Alimentos Unit Will Be Transformed into an Industrial Hub

The entrepreneur explained that in relation to the company’s future actions, the new factory in MG will be the headquarters of GSA and that the company will be able to expand its activities with the new plant, bringing a line of supplements for pets and pharmaceuticals.

The factory to be built will be the first construction in the Industrial District and will cover an area of more than 45,000 m². According to Angelo Oswaldo (PV), mayor of Ouro Preto (MG), the unit will be transformed into an industrial hub, located in the Cachoeira do Campo district.

Angelo claims that the municipality has a great disposition for economic and social advancement, and for this, opportunities are being offered to further expand the district, along with other initiatives being carried out in the region.

Secretary of Public Development Aims to Attract New Companies to the Industrial Hub of Cachoeira do Campo

According to Felipe Guerra, Secretary of Economic Development, Innovation, and Technology, the industrial hubs in the municipality will be one of the areas that will develop the most to make the economy more diverse.

Guerra states that it is essential to bring more companies committed to the public good to Ouro Preto. GSA Alimentos will be the first in the industrial hub, and next week a new process will be held to attract new companies and fill the areas of the Hub, generating jobs, income, and diversifying the economy.
