Hyundai Ioniq undergoes a significant reduction in its price and now takes the title of cheapest hybrid car in Brazil. The model is R$ 50 thousand cheaper.
O Hyundai Ioniq, a hybrid car launched on the national market at the end of March for R$ 199.990, follows the new pricing policy of the CAOA group and is also considerably cheaper.
In an official statement, the company confirms that reduced the price of the vehicle by R$ 50 thousand and offers the model for BRL 149.990 now, making the Ioniq the cheapest hybrid car in Brazil.
Hyundai Ioniq continues with the same equipment standard as before
The discount on the hybrid car was possible after renegotiation of values with the South Korean headquarters and follows the significant improvement seen in the Brazilian economic scenario in recent months.

The Kona EV electric vehicle also benefited from the reduction and went from R$229.990 to R$189.990, a significant difference of R$40. It is worth noting that, despite being BRL 50 cheaper, the Ioniq HEV continues with the same equipment standard as before.
Thus, the cheapest car in Brazil offers as standard a 10,25-inch multimedia center compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, electronic parking brake with AutoHold function, 15-inch alloy wheels, full-LED headlights, air -Dual Zone digital conditioning, digital instrument panel with 7 inch screen, 7 airbags and more.
It is important to point out that, in Brazil, Caoa is responsible for some Hyundai models, the Tucson line and all imported models, leaving the HB20 and Creta family for the automaker itself. In this way, the Brazilian company decided to align the reduction measures that the group made in Caoa Chery vehicles. Thus, it decides to reduce the value of two representatives of the South Korean company, the Kona EV and the Ioniq EV.
Hyundai Ioniq delivers 141 horsepower
Mechanically, the 1.6-liter gasoline engine with 105 horsepower and 15 kgfm of torque works together with an electric motor of 43,5 horsepower and 17,3 kgfm. The combined power is 141 horsepower, while the torque is 27 kgfm. According to Inmetro's vehicle labeling, the hybrid Ioniq consumes 18,9 km per liter in the city and 18,8 km per liter on the road, using gasoline alone.
Now costing BRL 149.990, the Hyundai Ioniq is now the cheapest hybrid car in Brasdil, always taking into account the conventional hybrids, called HEV, and not the light hybrids, called MHEV. The second place goes to the Kona Hybrid, sold for R$ 169.990, and equipped with the same set.
New hybrids coming to market
In addition to the Hyundai Ioniq, which is currently the cheapest car in Brazil, BYD is preparing to launch a new plug-in hybrid SUV for the domestic market, called Song Pro.
BYD's new car is already being sold in China for a more affordable price than the Song Plus, and is available in Brazil. O BYD SongPro had its industrial design and patents registered at the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI). The BYD Song Pro is the most likely to gain production at the Camaçari factory, in Bahia.
