IFPE Opens Thousands Of Places In Free Technical Courses For Those Who Have Completed Elementary And High School. Classes Of The Free Courses At IFPE Start In 2024.
The Federal Institute of Education, Science And Technology of Pernambuco (IFPE) launched last Wednesday (01), the notice of the Admission Process 2024.1 for new students. In total, 5,414 places will be offered in free courses, of which 1,435 are in undergraduate courses, 1,885 in integrated high school technical courses, 2,059 in subsequent technical courses, and 35 in Proeja professional qualification. In total, there are 5,024 places in free technical courses and 390 in EAD courses.
Distribution Of The Places
The opportunities are for 132 free technical courses distributed across the campuses of Abreu e Lima, Barreiros, Afogados da Ingazeira, Belo Jardim, Cabo de Santo Agostinho, Caruaru, Garanhuns, Igarassu, Ipojuca, Olinda, Palmares, Jaboatão dos Guararapes, Paulista, Recife, Pesqueira, and Vitória de Santo Antão, in addition to 9 Distance Education (EAD) centers in the cities of Águas Belas, Gravatá, Carpina, Limoeiro, Palmares, Pesqueira, Recife, Santa Cruz do Capibaribe, and Santana do Ipanema.
It is worth mentioning that IFPE reserves 60% of the admission process places for students from public schools through the quota system.

To be entitled to quotas, the student must have completed all elementary education in a public school if they are applying for places in integrated free technical courses or proeja, or all high school if they are applying for opportunities in subsequent free technical courses or higher education.
Another affirmative action from IFPE is the reservation of 25% of the open competition places for public school students from rural areas who choose agricultural vocation courses.
Learn How To Register For Free IFPE Courses
Registrations can be made until November 23, exclusively online, on the IFPE website. The registration fee will be R$ 50 for technical courses and R$ 65 for free undergraduate courses. Candidates can request a fee waiver from November 2 to 9.
To do so, it is necessary to fill out the form and submit the supporting documentation on the same registration website. This year, the selection will be conducted through multiple-choice tests. The exception is for the technical courses at agricultural campuses (Barreiros, Vitória de Santo Antão, and Belo Jardim), which will select students based on transcript analysis.
The tests will take place on December 17 and will consist of 30 questions for technical courses or 50 questions for undergraduate courses.
The free technical courses at agricultural campuses will continue to select students based on transcript analysis. The transcripts in Portuguese Language or Portuguese and Mathematics from elementary school will be analyzed for integrated courses and Portuguese Language or Portuguese and Mathematics from high school for subsequent technical courses.
Registration List
The preliminary list of approved registrations for the free technical and higher courses at IFPE will be published on November 28. Interested candidates will be able to appeal on November 29 through the IFPE website. The final list is expected on December 1.
The preliminary list of registrations for the free technical courses at the three agricultural campuses will be published on November 24.
Candidates will be able to appeal for unconfirmed registrations between November 25 and 27 on the IFPE admission website. The final publication of registrations for these courses is expected on November 29.
