Applications for the Free English and Spanish Courses at IFSul Are Open Until March 15

The Novo Hamburgo campus of the Federal Institute of Education, Science, and Technology of Southern Rio Grande do Sul, IFSul, opened this week a call for applications for free English and Spanish courses until March 15. A total of 5,000 spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The English and Spanish courses are aimed at the general community. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, classes will be held in the EAD (Distance Education) format without tutoring.

Prerequisites to Apply for the Free Courses at IFSul

You must have completed at least the 7th year of Elementary School;
Have a computer, tablet, or smartphone with internet access.

Applications for the free courses must be made on the IFSul website, and it advises those interested in taking English or Spanish to carefully read all the information available on the application form page.

According to IFSul, if there is a possibility of increasing the number of spots, students selected will be listed in the registration list. This will be published on IFSul’s official website and also on its Facebook page, as well as the results being sent to participants via email.

Start of Classes for the Free Courses

The start date for the free courses is expected to be March 18, with a total course load of 180 hours, including at least three online exams and one recovery. All content will be available on the platform created by the campus.

Upon completion of the course, the student must achieve a grade of 6.0 or higher, and must have completed all activities and assessments in order to be approved and receive a certificate for reading and writing skills. At the end of the first semester, the student may re-enroll for two additional modules.
