On last Tuesday (14th), Imetame received authorization from the Secretary of Ports (SEP) to begin works on the company’s Port that will be built in the municipality of Aracruz, in Espírito Santo. The project is expected to stimulate the creation of up to 950 jobs directly and indirectly.

The investment is around R$ 1 billion, and the forecast for the start of construction is already in the second half of this year, 2020, with an expectation of generating 650 direct jobs and an additional 300 indirect jobs in this phase.

Once the Port is operational at its full capacity, within a three-year timeframe, according to Imetame, 640 jobs are expected to be created directly and another 1,000 indirectly.

The facility will serve various productive sectors, such as support services for the import and export of cargo, as well as loading and unloading of containers, general cargo, grains, and liquid bulk. Additionally, it will have a structure capable of accommodating the next generation of ships from Brazil.

With this authorization, Imetame is only awaiting the signing of the lease agreement with the Secretariat of Union Heritage (SPU), which is already in the final analysis stage for the effective start of the port’s maritime works.

According to the company, information about job openings will be announced as the project gets closer to the start of construction through Imetame’s communication channels and others to be defined.
