Several Agencies Request Manifesto for Increase in Vacancies in New Public Competition for Anvisa. The Current Authorized Competition Has Only 50 Vacancies for Specialist.
Last Tuesday (15), a manifesto for increasing the number of vacancies in the Anvisa competition was sent to the Minister of State for Management and Innovation in Public Services, Esther Dweck. The document was developed by the Brazilian Alliance of Innovative Industry in Health (ABIIS) in conjunction with 15 other health sector associations.
The Current Public Competition for Anvisa Was Authorized and Has 50 Vacancies
The Anvisa competition was authorized on July 19, with the provision of 50 vacancies for the position of specialist in regulation and sanitary surveillance. According to the document, the publication of the announcement should occur within up to six months, that is, by mid-January.
The specialist in regulation and sanitary surveillance is responsible for the regulation, inspection, control, and oversight of facilities for producing and marketing food, sanitary supplies, and medications. Thus, the specialist is capable of formulating and evaluating projects and programs related to regulatory activities.

To compete for the position of specialist in regulation and sanitary surveillance, it is necessary to have a higher education degree, and successful candidates will receive an initial salary of R$ 16,000, in addition to a food allowance of R$ 658.
In the manifesto, the entities highlight the need to increase the number of vacancies available in the Anvisa competition, given that the personnel shortage in regulatory agencies is a reality that has been impacting federal public administration for years, leading to a backlog of tasks, work overload, and, consequently, a decline in the performance and quality of services provided. Details of the Last Anvisa Public Competition
The last Anvisa competition for the position of specialist was held in 2013, when 157 vacancies were made available for the position, with placements in Brasília.
The organizing body at that time was Cetro. The objective test consisted of 120 questions distributed as follows:
- Public Policies and Public Management – 10 questions;
- Sanitary Surveillance – 10 questions;
- Specific Knowledge – 60 questions;
- Regulation – 10 questions;
- Constitutional and Administrative Law – 10 questions;
- Foreign Language – English – 10 questions;
- Portuguese Language – 10 questions.
An essay question on regulation and sanitary surveillance was also applied. It is worth noting that in 2016 there was also a public competition where 78 vacancies were opened for a reserve list only for the position of administrative technician.
At that time, the organizing body was Cebraspe and the selection process included an objective test with 120 items, of which 50 were basic knowledge and 70 were specific knowledge.

The National Health Surveillance Agency is a federal regulatory agency whose mission is to promote the health of the Brazilian population through sanitary control.
