The Aid Grant Offered by the MEC to Students Will Be Available Through Resources from the National Fund for Education Development (FNDE)
In order to minimize ethnic-racial and social inequalities and encourage students to remain in their courses, the Ministry of Education and Culture – MEC – is offering monthly aid grants of R$ 900 for undergraduate students through the MEC’s Stay Grant Program. Applications to receive the aid grant are now open.

According to Pronatec, to participate in the MEC aid grant program, it is necessary for the student to be a quilombola or indigenous and to be enrolled in any in-person undergraduate course offered by federal higher education institutions.

To register, it is necessary to present the required documents for the analysis that will approve the registration in the MEC aid grant program. This process will occur until March 31.
About the Stay Grant Management System (SISBP)
The Stay Grant Program was established in 2013 to minimize social and ethnic-racial inequalities and to assist in the retention and graduation of undergraduate students in situations of socioeconomic vulnerability at federal higher education institutions in Brazil. The Stay Grant Management System (SISBP) aims to manage actions related to the MEC aid grant program, especially student admissions and grant payments. The updates to the SISBP have not only occurred on the platform but also in considering current legislation to facilitate navigation, transforming the system into a more intuitive and user-friendly environment. Finally, the SISBP will bring more convenience to users, especially in facilitating the completion of registrations by students.
MEC Offers Over 4,000 Places in Free Online Courses and Distance Learning with Certificates Issued by the Platform; Applications Will Last Until Places Are Filled
The MEC has just opened applications for free online and distance learning courses with certificates issued by the platform itself. The focus is on professionals working in the Education field, such as teachers and coordinators, but anyone is free to apply.
The Ministry of Education (MEC) is currently accepting applications for free online courses of 200 hours with completion certificates. So far, there are over 4,750 places available in Training for Early Childhood Education Professionals. Although aimed at education sector professionals, the free distance learning courses accept anyone interested, who has internet access and is available to study.
