The launch reinforces the competition between German giants for leadership in electric mobility.
Design Inspired By The Brand’s Classics
The new GLC EV adopts a more elegant and dynamic style, inspired by the historic sedans W108 and Pullman.
The front grille features bright chrome contours and displays 942 pixel-like points, occupying the entire central portion.
In addition, the SUV has grown: it has 2.97 meters of wheelbase, ensuring 4.7 cm of extra legroom in the rear and 1.7 cm additional headroom.
The trunk offers 570 liters with the seats in use, expanding to 1,740 liters with the backrest folded down.
Another detail is the front trunk with 128 liters, enhancing practicality.
Entertainment And Comfort Technology
The interior of the GLC EV impresses with the unprecedented 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen, the largest ever installed in a production car from the brand.
Composed of around 1,000 LEDs, it guarantees brightness and vibrant colors, along with clarity even in bright light.
For safety, the system activates intelligent dimming zones during driving, highlighting only the necessary information.
This feature rivals the Panoramic iDrive of the BMW iX3.
In the center console, there are two wireless charging pads for cell phones and physical buttons.
The presence of analog controls meets the demand from consumers who reject excessive digital commands.
First Certified Vegan Interior
The model stands out as the first car in the world to receive vegan certification. This certification was granted by The Vegan Society in 2025.
Additionally, all internal materials — from upholstery to carpet — were tested. Thus, it was proven that no animal-derived products are used at any stage.
Likewise, Mercedes-Benz will offer a Vegan Package as an option. Therefore, customers will have the freedom to choose the configuration that best aligns with their lifestyle.
Finally, the initiative reinforces the brand’s commitment. This way, Mercedes-Benz reaffirms its investment in sustainability and innovation in the automotive sector.
Power, Range, And Launch
The electric SUV features a 94 kWh battery, 800-volt architecture, and 489 hp, surpassing the 469 hp of the BMW iX3.
Additionally, the range in the European WLTP cycle reaches 713 km, while the ultrafast charging of 330 kW guarantees 303 km in just 10 minutes.
Among the options is the Airmatic suspension, which can adaptively adjust the damping, providing more comfort and stability in different driving conditions.
Another highlight is the rear axle that can steer up to 4.5 degrees, which consequently enhances stability and improves handling in tighter turns.
Finally, the launch at dealerships in Europe and the United States is scheduled for 2026, positioned above the combustion GLC, although prices remain undefined.
