Mercedes-Benz launched the pre-sales for the V-Class in Brazil on September 2 for R$ 729,900 ($140,000), featuring seven seats, two versions, and aimed at families or executive transport seeking van space with luxury vehicle finishes.
The model can be ordered in the V 300 Avantgarde and V 300 Elegance configurations. The manufacturer has yet to disclose details on the engine, performance, dimensions, equipment for each version, or the date of the first deliveries.
Despite the gaps, the announcement defines a new commercial front. Mercedes-Benz itself states that the V-Class marks its entry into a segment that the brand has not occupied in the country.
The proposal is not to replace the Sprinter used for cargo or passenger transport. The V-Class was designed as a passenger vehicle, prioritizing quietness, technology, cabin flexibility, and comfort in the rear rows.

The price places the vehicle above conventional large SUVs and close to premium models. The purchasing argument relies less on sportiness and more on the space shared by up to seven occupants.

V-Class Available in Two Versions with the Same Starting Point
The pre-sales start at R$ 729,900. The phrase “starting from” indicates that optional features, finishes, and selected versions may raise the final negotiated price at the dealership.
Avantgarde and Elegance make up the initial offering, but the Brazilian announcement does not list the differences between them. Comparing equipment or stating which is more complete will require the final commercial specifications.
Orders can now be placed through the brand’s dealership network. This allows them to gauge interest before physical volume arrival and organize importation, distribution, and team training.
The start of pre-sales does not equate to immediate delivery. Mercedes-Benz has promised to release further information; therefore, delivery timelines and national configurations still need confirmation.
For consumers, the risk is reserving a vehicle before knowing all the details. Terms regarding deposits, cancellations, and final pricing should be verified directly in the dealership contract.
Seven Seats in a Cabin Designed to Change Functions
The V-Class can transport up to seven people and offers various seating configurations. This flexibility allows for prioritizing passengers, on-board meetings, or additional luggage space.
In large families, the layout reduces competition between the third row and luggage space. In executive transport, it creates a rear area where clients can work or converse without the cramped positioning found in some SUVs.
The high ceiling and more regular flooring facilitate movement. Wide side doors make getting in and out of parking spaces easier, where a conventional door would require significant space to open.
These advantages come with larger external dimensions. Garage space, height clearance, turning radius, and urban maneuvering need to be considered, although local measurements have yet to be disclosed.
The buyer will also need to note the required driver’s license category and registered capacity, but a vehicle for seven occupants typically falls within the rules for light passenger vehicles.

MBUX and Widescreen Cockpit Centralize Digital Functions
The brand confirmed the MBUX multimedia system and a widescreen cockpit. The screens integrate navigation, entertainment, vehicle settings, and information directed at the driver.
The MBUX is known for its voice interface and connectivity with services in other Mercedes models. The announcement does not specify which functions, subscriptions, or apps will be active in the Brazilian V-Class.
Connectivity is crucial as the vehicle can operate for many hours each day. Executive passengers expect to charge devices, maintain communication access, and control the environment without depending on the driver.
The cabin also offers entertainment and practicality features, but the complete list will be presented later. Therefore, items seen in foreign versions should not be considered guaranteed in Brazil.
This caution applies to finish and seats. Promotional photos show the premium concept, but material combinations and seating may vary depending on the purchased configuration.
Assistance Package Confirmed with Incomplete System List
Mercedes-Benz stated that the model will have driving assistance and safety technologies. However, it did not enumerate which features will be available as standard or optional.
Systems such as automatic braking, cruise control, and lane monitoring vary by market. Availability in a European V-Class does not automatically confirm the same calibration in the Brazilian version.
In a long and heavy minivan, cameras and sensors can assist with parking and blind spots. Nonetheless, dimensions and visibility require driver adaptation.
Safety also involves the correct securing of passengers and luggage. A modular cabin must maintain belts, tracks, and locks in the proper position after each configuration change.
Future technical detailing will allow for an evaluation of protection, number of airbags, and test ratings. In the initial announcement, the company limited itself to confirming a broad package.
The New Segment Competes with SUV and Executive Transport Clients
The premium minivan format is smaller in Brazil than in Europe or Asia. Many consumers have shifted to SUVs, even when they need three rows of seats.
The V-Class aims to reverse this choice with better internal utilization. Instead of an adventurous look, it offers volume, lateral access, and arrangements focused on those who actually use the rear seats.
In hotel, airport, and corporate transport, the Mercedes star adds brand recognition. Operational cost, maintenance network, and resale value will be decisive for fleet operators.
For families, the R$ 729,900 price tag limits the audience. The vehicle targets buyers willing to pay for space and refinement without seeking a sporty body.
The debut of the V-Class in Brazil is confirmed, but a full evaluation will have to wait for a mechanical data sheet, item list, and deliveries. Pre-sales open the door; details will reveal the real size of the opportunity.
