Electric Motorcycle Sales Are Significantly Increasing Worldwide; However, The RV400 From Indian Revolt Motors Is Clearly An Abnormal Record-Breaking Case

Revolt Motors, taking advantage of the Indian government’s subsidy to encourage electric purchases, managed to achieve record sales with its electric motorcycle. The Indian model has a range of 150 km with a top speed of 85 km/h.

Sales Of The Indian Electric Motorcycle Set A Record

The company benefited from federal government subsidies through FAME II, a program that encourages the purchase of electric vehicles to further lower the cost of the electric motorcycle, which sold out in just 2 hours. Few places in the world can record a circulation of motorcycles similar to that of India. Therefore, encouraging the Indian population to use an electric motorcycle has been the local government’s mission.

Revolt Motors’ investment in electric motorcycle production, which had been halted due to stock shortages, allowed the model to be priced more affordably at 90,000 rupees (about R$ 6,000 in direct conversion).

Learn More About The Indian Electric Motorcycle

At an affordable price, consumers can acquire an electric motorcycle that can reach 85 km/h with a continuous motor of 3 kW. The vehicle that broke sales records has a removable battery of 72 V and 45 Ah with a capacity of 3.24 kWh, which provides the motorcycle with a range of 150 km in economy mode and up to 80 km in SPORT mode.

The large wheels of the Revolt Motors electric motorcycle are 17 inches, specifically designed for the variety of surfaces on Indian roads and are excellent for handling unpredictable terrain.

Another important point about the 150 cc electric motorcycle is its weight, which is only 108 kg, even offering seating for two people. According to Revolt Motors, the electric vehicle has proven to be one of the best alternatives compared to gas-powered motorcycles in India.

Electric Motorcycle Manufacturers Aim For The International Market

India is a leader in lightweight electric motorcycle sales, and many in the sector are awaiting Indian companies to expand to offer exports to other countries. Ola Electric is eyeing major foreign markets and has already started building a factory capable of producing 2 million electric scooters per year, aiming for a production of 10 million.

The company intends to export a significant number of these two-wheeled vehicles outside Indian territory and become the first local company to sell electric motorcycles internationally.
