Designer Develops New Electric Motorcycle Capable of Changing the Market. The New Project Involves the Creation of a Motorcycle Capable of Adapting to the Rider According to Their Height.

The electric motorcycle market is gaining more and more prominence in urban mobility, and thus various advancements are being made. One that caught the media’s attention in recent days is the development of a new sustainable motorcycle that changes size according to the rider’s needs.

Concept of an electric motorcycle that adjusts to the size of motorcyclists

The new motorcycle concept is being developed by industrial designer Zhengxuan Xie. The project is part of Zhengxuan’s graduation at the Royal College of Art in London, England. One of the unique features of the project is the ability of the electric motorcycle to adjust to the size of all riders, which can be called the “Power Inside” concept.

Called Athena, the electric motorcycle can change its shape and adapt to any rider’s size by adjusting the seat height and other dimensions. The designer explains that the seat height of an electric or conventional motorcycle is one of the biggest challenges for those who need a motorcycle.

For example, shorter people could benefit from this new concept, as the rider would have the ability to decide the dimensions of the motorcycle, as long as they are within the adjustment possibilities. Although it is a project for the future, the innovation has caught the attention of the electric motorcycle market worldwide.

In addition, Zhengxuan states that the model could also be a powerful machine. The designer estimates that the electric motorcycle would be powered by a 17.7 kWh battery with a capacity of 51 milliamperes, capable of supplying up to 348 volts of power to the motor.

Zhengxuan Xie’s Electric Motorcycle Would Have State-of-the-Art Visible Functions and Structures

Another interesting fact about the Athena motorcycle is that the vehicle expresses functions and structures visually, meaning that details such as battery performance, radiator positioning, or fenders are displayed on the motorcycle’s body parts through graphics.

According to Designer Zhengxuan Xie, the matte material allows users to feel the strength of the model’s outer contour and, when approaching it, to see its mechanical structure inside the vehicle even more, to feel the power within the vehicle that is also a continuation of the “Power Inside” in the user’s personality.

It is important to remember that the electric motorcycle market is increasingly captivating enthusiasts around the world. In Brazil, for example, sales of electric motorcycles saw significant expansion in 2022. According to the National Federation of Automotive Vehicle Distribution (Fenabrave), 7,200 battery-powered motorcycles and scooters were sold last year. This number represents a 2246% increase compared to the previous year.

Shineray Introduces New Electric Motorcycle

Shineray Brazil introduced another electric motorcycle option to the national market in March of this year. The model, called Shineray SHE E-Jet, features a different, more modern design, with a front headlight assembly and fairing that resemble details of Triumph. The Shineray SHE E-Jet has a distinct and modern design that hardly goes unnoticed on the streets, being the main highlight of Shineray’s new model.

The new vehicle from the brand promises new details in the finishing and greater comfort for the rider. The project targets a different audience, while previous models focused on delivery professionals, the new model aims at motorcyclists looking for an alternative to switch from combustion motorcycles to electric ones.
