The good news is due to the high number of approved projects, resources available to developers and final borrowers, and banks' willingness to expand their real estate loan portfolios.
Finally, 2020 will be the year the industry rises from the ashes and rewards professionals who are ready. Roberto Campos Neto, president of the Central Bank (BC), stated that civil construction is “one of the levers of growth”.
The December Construction Survey by the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV) and the Brazilian Institute of Economics (Ibre) registers the highest score since June 2014, which corroborates the projections that in 2019 the sector will have ended a cycle of five years of retraction.
The civil construction market rose 2 percent in the second quarter of this year, compared to 2018, ending the series of declines that have haunted industry professionals since 2014, informed the Union of the Civil Construction Industry of the State of São Paulo (Sinduscon -SP)
Added to these factors is the fact that civil construction was the sector that most created formal jobs in 2019, up 5,93% compared to December 2018, equivalent to 117,2 thousand jobs with a formal contract.
According to IBGE, the number of people employed in the sector increased due to the fact that the civil construction sector was boosted by the 10,7 percent rise in credit for housing finance.
In addition, according to data from Exame Magazine, with the recovery of the real estate sector, sales of construction machinery ended 2019 with a 37 percent increase
And it doesn't stop there, to complement, the Construction Confidence Index (ICST) calculated by FGV/IBRE reached 84,7 in November, which is the highest level reached by the index since January 2015.
With a scenario that promises to be so favorable again, professionals working in the field of civil construction only need to make sure of one thing: that they are properly qualified and aware of the new technologies and requirements of the sector.
