Many Jobs Can Be Created by Nestlé, Equinor and Other Companies with the Resumption of Investment Plans in Brazil
According to a report by Estadão, the number of foreign companies announcing new expansion projects, acquisitions, or capital investments in Brazil has been growing in recent months. Multinationals Nestlé, Equinor, EDP, and Renault have plans to make significant investments and generate various jobs in specific regions of the country. New Nestlé Factory Will Receive R$ 1 Billion in Investments and Will Create 2,000 Jobs in Santa Catarina State
Nestlé, a multinational present in 187 countries, will build a new factory in the municipality of Vargeão, in the state of Santa Catarina. According to information released by Valor Econômico, the company, considered the largest food and beverage company in the world, will invest around R$ 1 billion in the new facility, on a land of over one million square meters. The expectation is that 200 jobs will be created in the coming years, and during the installation phases, more than 1,800 outsourced workers will be hired for the implementation and development of the park. The project will accelerate the growth of Purina in a strategic market for the Nestlé Group.
Equinor Multinational Announced New Investments and Jobs
At the beginning of the month, Equinor announced investments of U$ 8 billion in phase 1 of the Bacalhau field, located in the Santos Basin, in a pre-salt area discovered by Petrobras back in 2012. The investment comes from a partnership with ExxonMobil, Petrogal Brasil, and Pré-Sal Petróleo S.A. The expectation is that 3,000 new jobs will be created.

EDP and Renault Will Also Make New Investments in Brazil
EDP, well-known in the renewable energy sector, aims to add 1 GW in capacity with solar power plants by 2025, with investments in the sector totaling R$ 10 billion, according to a company director during an online event with investors on Monday (04/26). EDP has 50 MW in its solar power plants operating in Brazil, and its billion-dollar plans will represent a strong advancement for the sector. The company expects to create new jobs with the new units to be installed.
Renault recently announced that it will invest R$ 1.1 billion in Brazil this year and in 2022. Unlike previous years, when programs were defined for five-year periods, this time the company decided on the short term and will continue negotiating with the headquarters for contributions for the following years. However, the company states that a new cycle of investments and new jobs will depend on improved competitiveness in the country.
