The Amazon Development Council Approved, on 06/22, About 39 Projects That Will Generate Jobs and New Investments
Last Tuesday (06/22), during the 290th Ordinary Meeting of the Amazon Development Council (Codam), 39 new projects and investments of approximately R$ 1.5 billion were approved, which will generate about 1,250 new jobs in the state. The government council, directly linked to the State Secretariat of Economic Development, Science, Technology, and Innovation (Sedecti), unanimously approved the projects. Approval of Projects by the Government of Amazonas and Job Generation
The meeting took place on Tuesday morning, online via the Sedecti YouTube channel (Sedecti Amazonas). A total of 39 projects were approved, including 16 for implementation, 17 for diversification, and 6 update projects. The approved investment total projects generating 1,257 new jobs, including 1,035 direct and 222 indirect jobs. The new job openings are projected for Manaus and also for the municipality of Rio Preto da Eva.
Jório Veiga, head of Sedecti, stated that they had a good batch of projects presented on this agenda. Some need to undergo adjustments, but generally, they are within the expected average. The Government of Amazonas continues to seek new investments for the state and aims to boost the economy, especially promoting the internalization of development for the municipalities, concluded Veiga.

Companies That Can Generate More Jobs in the State
Tec Toy presented an update project in Amazonas with investments exceeding R$ 542 million. Among the products highlighted for local production are digital cell phones, combined or not with other technologies, and data capture terminals for commercial transactions.
Meanwhile, Hana Electronics presented an implementation project, introducing a new product to be manufactured, with an investment of over R$ 164 million for the production of electronic integrated circuits, such as memory (standardized RAM module).
Rubberon disclosed a diversification plan – manufacturing new products, with investments exceeding R$ 64 million. The items to be manufactured in Amazonas were classified as “plastic articles for transportation or packaging,” such as: sheets, foils, strips, tapes, plastic films (except expanded polystyrene and self-adhesive).

Carlos da Costa, Special Minister of Productivity, Employment, and Competitiveness, announced that he will approve the expansion of LG’s monitor and notebook production line in the Manaus Free Trade Zone, Amazonas. The decision was made after the electronics multinational increased the number of jobs created in the Amazon capital from 68 to 150 and announced an investment of approximately R$ 3.8 billion.
On 05/11, a live session took place featuring the president of Fieam (Federation of Industries of the State of Amazonas) and executives from LG Electronics. Carlos da Costa stated during the meeting that, in addition to increasing opportunities, the approval of the new proposal considered that the multinational is the fourth largest employer in Amazonas, generating 2,200 jobs in the state.
