The Newest Electric Car Launched by Audi, In Addition to Projecting Games Through Its Headlights, Reaches 100Km/h in Less Than Seven Seconds

Without a doubt, the multinational Audi of the Volkswagen Group is one of the most innovative companies in the automotive sector, equipping vehicles with resources that are hardly imaginable until a concept is presented. The manufacturer announced the Audi A6 e-tron which, among other features, stands out for having high-resolution projector headlights for video games.

Still under development, Audi’s newest electric car, the A6 e-tron sedan, was presented during the Auto Shanghai 2021 showcase and is expected to be equipped with the new architecture for electric cars called Premium Platform Electric (PPE), created in partnership with the Volkswagen and Porsche group, and is set to be integrated into all future compacts (segment C) and utilities (segment B) from the manufacturer.

The patented lighting known as LED Digital Matrix is a major highlight of the vehicle. In addition to having projectors on the sides and lower parts of its body, which can alert motorcyclists and other drivers that the door is about to be opened, the front headlights feature a cinema-quality projection system, as the company states in its announcement.

The Audi A6 e-tron Electric Car, Besides Being Powerful, Is Capable of Projecting Video Games Through Its Headlights

The idea is for the headlights to be used, among other occasions outside of traffic, to project games while the car is charged at an electric station — the driver’s smartphone screen is mirrored and projected onto a wall as the battery is recharged. Audi states that the games are developed by the company itself, thus other smartphone applications will not be compatible.

Instead of a small screen in the driver’s cabin, drivers will see the virtual landscapes of their respective game projected on a wall in XXL format – and all this through the LED Digital Matrix. Players can stand next to or directly in front of the vehicle for a particularly good view of the game, which spans several meters wide.

The Audi A6 e-tron boasts a futuristic design that should be common in future models from the German company, providing a sufficiently low aerodynamic coefficient for the vehicle to be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than four seconds without compromising efficient energy consumption. Furthermore, the paint used on the vehicle is designed to reflect sunlight and eliminate the need for air conditioning.

Audi A6 e-tron from the Volkswagen Group Features Two Electric Motors

Sustainable, the vehicle features two electric motors with a total power of 350 kW and torque of 800 Newton-meters. Its powerful battery can be charged at stations of up to 800 volts, providing enough energy for the vehicle to travel up to 300 km with only 10 minutes of charging.

Despite its extremely futuristic concept, the Audi A6 e-tron may not take long to reach the public. Its development is expected to occur over the coming years, and, starting in 2023, it could become a reality for its enthusiasts abroad, as its activities in Brazil are suspended for tax reasons.

Volkswagen Wants to Sue Chinese Manufacturer for Outrageously Manufacturing an Electric Copy of the Iconic Beetle

The Chinese industry has not yet abandoned some old habits, and the multinational Volkswagen was not pleased at all with the electric vehicle manufacturer ORA, which is part of the Great Wall Motors group. The brand presented a clone of the Beetle at the Shanghai Auto Show. Named ORA Punk Cat, the vehicle shares the same features as the iconic VW car.

But the creation of this car with a “time machine feeling,” as stated by ORA itself, did not please Volkswagen at all.

In a statement to Carscoops, the Volkswagen AG group stated: “With respect to any violations of utility model or design rights of Volkswagen AG, we reserve the right to take all necessary legal measures.”
