Expansion of the Unit in the State of Sergipe
The Altenburg factory, specialized in producing bedding and bath items, has inaugurated its own unit in the state. With government subsidies, the industry acquired land in the District, building a facility with 18 thousand m² of constructed area and an investment of R$ 30 million. Representing Governor Belivaldo Chagas, Lieutenant Governor Eliane Aquino attended the event and toured the unit’s facilities.
With expansion planning over a two-year period, Altenburg, which currently employs almost 230 workers, is expected to reach a total of 400 employees. Currently, the industry produces an average of 400 thousand pieces per month, with an estimate to reach 600 thousand pieces per month by the end of the expansion. Regarding revenue, it’s expected that figures will increase from R$ 100 thousand to R$ 200 thousand per year upon project completion. Until then, the factory’s management plans new investments, estimating R$ 15 million for equipment purchase and other adjustments. The new headquarters emphasizes sustainability, with green areas and better space utilization.

Tax Incentives Available to Altenburg’s Factory
In addition to support for acquiring the space, the State Government offers tax incentives to Altenburg through the Sergipe Industrial Development Program (PSDI), providing a discount on ICMS. The company has been a beneficiary of PSDI for 10 years, with the possibility of enjoying the incentive at the factory for another 15.
According to Lieutenant Governor Eliane Aquino, the support given by the government to industries is essential for Sergipe to assert itself as a competitive state. “A factory like this is of gigantic importance to our state. Sergipe increasingly wants to compete with other states, and we have the technical capacity and skilled people for that. I am sure that, if it depends on every professional working here, great directors will emerge to the world, as I believe in the intelligence and capacity of our people. May more projects like this come, and may this factory inspire other entrepreneurs to invest in the state of Sergipe,” she stated.
The manager responsible for the unit, Roberto Zamprogna, emphasized the role of the state administration as a decisive factor in choosing Sergipe as the location for Altenburg in the Northeast. “The choice of the factory for Sergipe is due to logistics, a skilled labor force, and tax incentives. Government support is fundamental for the success of the unit’s implementation. We made the decision to set up in Sergipe, and a milestone for that was the government’s participation, which does a great job in bringing new companies and providing them with all the necessary support,” he stressed.
