Vestas Multinational Now Has The Most Powerful Wind Turbine In The World, Currently In Testing. The Model Has A Capacity To Generate Up To 15 MW, Which Could Power 20,000 European Homes. Vestas Wind Systems Claims That Each Blade Will Withstand A Pressure Equivalent To The Weight Of 20 African Elephants Lined Up During Production.

The Most Powerful Wind Turbine In The World Has Started Operating At The Osterild National Test Center, Located In Western Jutland, Denmark. The Equipment, Named Vestas V236, Was Developed By The Danish Manufacturer Vestas Wind Systems. The Model Features A 15 MW Wind Power Turbine, With The Capacity To Provide About 80 GWh Of Renewable Energy Per Year.

The Renewable Energy Generated By The Turbine Has The Capacity To Meet The Demands Of 20,000 European Homes And Avoid The Emission Of 35,000 Tons Of Carbon Dioxide Into The Atmosphere Each Year. With Enormous Blades Measuring 115.5 Meters, The Most Powerful Wind Turbine In The World Stretches To 280 Meters In The Air, Covering An Area Of 43,000 Square Meters.

The Estimate Is That The Vestas Wind Turbine Can Operate For Decades In An Aggressive Environment, Such As Offshore In The North Sea. Vestas Also Emphasizes That Each Blade Will Withstand A Pressure Equivalent To The Weight Of 20 African Elephants Lined Up During Clean Energy Production.

The Multinational Claims That Tests With The New Giant Product Are Expected To Last About A Year, With Serial Production Of The Model Starting In The Second Half Of 2023 At The Nakskov Facilities In Denmark, And Starting In The Third Quarter Of This Year At The Vestas Blades Factory In Taranto, Italy.

New Wind Turbines Are Being Developed And May Surpass Vestas’ Model

The Danish Wind Turbine, However, Is Not Expected To Remain The Most Powerful In The World For Long, Given That The Subsidiary Of The China State Shipbuilding Corporation, The Industrial Manufacturer CSSC Haichuang, Has Revealed That It Is Developing The Most Powerful Wind Turbine In The World, With A Capacity Of 18 MW, Blades Measuring 128 Meters Long, And An Area Of 53,000 M².

The China Also Plans To Develop The Largest Offshore Wind Farm In The World In The City Of Chaozhou, Guangdong Province, Near The Taiwan Strait. The Site Will Have The Capacity To Produce About 43.4 GW.
