Ibtu Plans to Invest R$ 2.5 Billion to Install the New Solar Energy Complex Called Caldeirão Grande 2. The Complex Will Allow Piauí to Maintain Its Leadership in the Sector and Promises to Generate More Than 3,500 New Job Opportunities
This Thursday (24), the Governor of Piauí, Wellington Dias, met at the Palace of Karnak with representatives from the State Department of Mining, Oil, and Renewable Energies and representatives from Ibtu Energia to discuss the implementation project of a new Solar Energy Complex known as Caldeirão Grande 2, which promises to generate over 3,000 jobs in the region.

About 3,600 direct and indirect job vacancies will be created over three years, with the expectation that jobs will start being generated by the end of this year. The complex will be the largest in the solar energy sector not only in Piauí but in Brazil.
With each stage of construction, an additional 300 MW will be added. Gustavo Ribeiro, president of Ibtu, states that the solar energy company also intends to work on social projects in Piauí, investing around R$ 12 million. Currently, the largest energy plant is the wind plant also located in the city of Caldeirão Grande.

The forecast is that the final stage of the solar energy complex, which promises to generate various jobs, will be completed in 2024. According to Howzembergson de Brito, director of renewable energies at Seminper, the company is following a schedule to make the start of construction viable by the end of this year. Governor of the State Speaks Out
Dias states that the use of clean and sustainable energy is a priority for Piauí, and Ibtu is a company already present in the state’s solar energy sector. With the new investment, the company will provide an opportunity for Piauí to reach a new milestone in this area.
The governor also asserts that he is already working to obtain the conditions for the release of a preliminary license this month so that the solar energy company can carry out the works in November.
