India Proposed the Formation of an Alliance for Promoting Biofuels, Receiving Positive Responses from Countries Like Brazil and Russia. This Possibility Came from Indian Oil Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Who Spoke About the Matter on Monday, February 6, as Reported by Reuters.
The Indian Minister Announced Last October that, as the Third Largest Oil Consumer in the World, India Would Use Its G20 Presidency to Support the Formation of an International Biofuels Alliance. The Aim is to Make Sustainable Fuels More Accessible, Safe, and Profitable. The Alliance Also Aims to Promote Innovation in the Production, Storage, and Use of Biofuels.
Furthermore, It Aims to Encourage Emerging Economies and Developing Nations to Adopt Advanced Technologies for Renewable Fuel. India is Focusing on Biofuels to Assist in the Transition to Alternative Fuels and Reduce Its Import Bills. The Country Aims to Achieve the Target of Net Zero Carbon Emissions by 2070, as Part of Its Efforts to Combat Global Climate Change.
It is Also Developing a Biofuels Alliance to Help Bring Clean and Affordable Solar Energy to All. This Alliance, Launched by New Delhi and Paris in 2015, is Part of the International Solar Alliance. It Aims to Provide Safe and Sustainable Sources of Solar Energy for Member Countries and Achieve the Goal of Clean, Affordable, and Equitable Energy for All.
