It seems that the installation will begin in 2022, which will be the largest solar energy purchasing agreement in Brazil. The British mining company Anglo American announced on its official website an investment of R$ 881 million – the contract with the British company Anglo American will remain in effect for a period of 15 years.

Capacity

At present, the capacity of the company in Minas Gerais, Atlas Casablanca, is 330MW – which is not a problem, considering that after the start of the contract in 2022 with Anglo American and Renewable Energy, it will be able to produce a sufficient amount of Energy to supply a city with up to 1.4 million inhabitants, based, of course, on the average Brazilian consumption.

100% Renewable Energy

Anglo American will use 100% renewable solar energy throughout its operations in Brazilian territory together with the Minas Gerais company – Atlas Casablanca. This will undoubtedly reduce CO2 emissions by up to 30% by 2030.

Advanced Technology

In addition, the company Atlas Renewable Energy, which is also part of the solar energy partnership contract involving Anglo American – along with the Minas Gerais company – Atlas Casablanca, states that during its activities in Brazilian soil, it will use only solar panels with reflection from the back and front sides – this is a new innovative technology aimed at improving photovoltaic conversion and efficiency.
