The Innovative Topics of Programming Include Environmental, Social, and Governance Issues and the Energy Transition.

The Rio Pipeline, the main meeting point for the international pipeline community in Brazil, will continue to host technical works until February 28 of next year. Under the theme “Knowledge and Energy for a New Market”, the annual oil and gas industry event will bring together researchers, specialists, and executives from the pipeline sector, one of the most important in the oil, gas, and energy industry.

As the event returns to the traditional in-person format, themes such as “ESG” (Environmental, Social, and Governance), “Environmental License”, “Business Environment”, “Energy Transition”, and “Human Capital” are added to the discussion. The incorporation of these criteria demonstrates that the industry values more than just monetary capital; it also cares about its impact on society, the environment, and its employees.

Control rooms and automation; underwater systems; logistics and operation; risk and safety; Structural Integrity; design, construction, materials, and rights of way; GIS (Geographic Information System) mapping and geotechnical analysis; maintenance and reconstruction of pipeline systems; distribution, storage, and terminals; are just some of the eleven themes that will be discussed at the event.

The submission deadline for the monophase technical program of the Rio Pipeline is February 28.

Since the entry of players and the adoption of a new business dynamics for derivatives, there has been a search for markets for products from private refineries; the 2021 meeting discussed the scenario of Petrobras’ divestment in refining as a driver of demands for expanding infrastructure pipelines in the country.

In addition to the need for new or refurbished pipelines adapted to transport not only gas or hydrogen but also CO2 within CCS principles, the meeting from August 8 to 10, 2023, at Expomag in Rio de Janeiro, will also discuss opportunities and challenges to achieve improvements in efficiency, quality, and safety in the transportation of oil, gas, and energy.

In addition to listening to highly relevant technical content presentations for the long-term health and future growth of the sector, participants will have the opportunity to network in an ideal environment for conducting business and making important professional connections.
