Olfar Becomes the Largest Biodiesel Producer in Brazil and Announces the Start of the Second Phase of the Plant in Goiás
According to Olfar – the largest Brazilian biodiesel producer, the new phase of the plant’s construction in Goiás will involve building the soybean processing facility, covering the entire area of the soybean oil extraction unit, with silos for grain storage, a depot for soybean meal, among other elements that make up the production process structure. The estimate is that 3,000 tons of soybean grains will be processed daily.

For the works to begin, Olfar received support from the authorities of the municipality of Porangatu. The City Council unanimously approved the allocation of a 37-hectare plot of land, where the new plant will be installed. Mayor Vanuza Valadares reported that she considers this moment a historical milestone for the city’s development.
At the event, Olfar’s president, José Carlos Weschenfelder, spoke about the significant impact the complex will have not only on the city but also on the entire northern region of Goiás, something that will enhance development, as well as generate jobs and income, bringing more quality of life to employees. Another very positive point is the support for Agribusiness, which will certainly receive more technical assistance and improved support from the company, from planting to harvesting.

The construction is expected to begin in late 2021 or early 2022 and will have a total storage capacity of 33,000 tons of the grain.
