This is the second notification of oil discovery in the SM-623 block, in the Campos basin, made by Petrobras to the ANP

The discovery that was notified by the state-owned company to the National Petroleum Agency (ANP) occurred in a water depth of 1.226 meters, in the well called 9-MLL-83-RJS.

Two modules are applied to the Marlim Leste field for production development, these are the P-53, an FPU (Floating Production Unit) type platform; and FPSO Cidade de Niterói.

The asset is located 107 km from Cabo de São Tomé (RJ), in water depths ranging from 780 to 2.000 meters.

Petrobras made its first notification of signs of oil last week in the SM-623 block, according to the state-owned oil company the block is located in the Sagitário prospect

The discovery took place in well 3-BRSA-1370-SPS, in a water depth of 1.841 meters, which is being drilled with the ODN I rig.

The resumption of exploratory activity in the region was previously revealed by Repsol, Petrobras' partner in the project.

In 2014, the Brazilian state-owned company concluded the Sagittarius formation test, which indicated the good productivity of the discovery, with 159 meters of pre-salt reservoirs with good quality oil (32º API).

Petrobras even expressed interest in being the operator of the Sudoeste de Sagitário block, which was auctioned in the 6th Sharing Round, last November.

However, the state-owned company withdrew from submitting a bid for the area, which was not sold by any other company.
