The Projects and Contracts Signed by Petrobras in the Campos Basin
Between March and April, Petrobras signed contracts for the supply of up to 92 km of flexible lines for gas lift (gasification of the production column) with the company NOV, and for the supply of up to 13 subsea production and injection manifolds, with 8 from TechnipFMC and 5 from Baker Hughes, in addition to contracts for anchorage materials, subsea equipment, and umbilicals.
Petrobras’ initiatives are part of the revitalization project for Marlim and Voador, located in the Campos Basin, which aim to maximize the potential of these assets and promote greater returns for the company and society, creating a virtuous cycle of value generation.

The Revitalization of Areas in the Campos Basin
The revitalization project operated 100% by Petrobras plans to install two new FPSO-type platforms in the North area (Module 1) and the South area (Module 2) of the Marlim field. In 2019, the company signed contracts for the chartering of the platforms with the Japanese company Modec (FPSO Anita Garibaldi) and Yinson (FPSO Anna Nery) from Malaysia.
Petrobras’ two platforms, which will be interconnected to 77 wells (14 new and 63 that will be relocated from Production Units that will be decommissioned), are expected to begin operations in 2023 and will allow the extension of production from the field’s reservoirs until 2048, maintaining jobs and support services in the region. The new systems will enable an increase in current production from Marlim and Voador in the Campos Basin from about 45,000 boepd to approximately 153,000 boepd, providing an important opportunity for learning and knowledge for other revitalization projects.
Petrobras’ Investment Plans
Petrobras’ Strategic Plan 2021-2025 provides for US$ 13 billion in investments for the revitalization of oil and gas production in the Campos Basin, a center of innovations that positioned the company as a leader in deepwater and ultra-deepwater exploration and production.
The investments by Petrobras cover the interconnection of approximately 100 wells to the systems that are in production, the intensification of exploratory campaigns in the pre-salt layer of this basin, new production projects, and the extension of concession deadlines for the fields in this important oil basin, among other efforts.
As it is considered technically a mature basin, the Campos Basin presents increasingly more challenges to be overcome for the enhancement of the recovery of the fields, which requires Petrobras and other companies to have an integrated work of the company’s technical staff in search of innovative solutions and investments in high-technology equipment.
