Baker Hughes Just Secured a New Contract with Petrobras to Supply Various Subsea Equipment for the Campos Basin
The oilfield services company Baker Hughes has signed a new contract with Petrobras. The company will supply subsea equipment for Marlim and Voador, in the Campos Basin, as part of the area’s revitalization plan.

According to the contract, Baker Hughes will supply up to five subsea production and injection manifold systems for Petrobras’s Campos Basin, as well as 32 subsea control modules known as Modpods.
The multinational’s contract includes a global team of specialists for the provision of subsea control modules, subsea connection systems, production and injection subsea manifold systems, and field installation support.

The manifolds will be assembled, manufactured, and tested in Jandira (SP), at Baker Hughes’ Center of Excellence facilities. The Modpods will be based on SemStar5 technology, which is manufactured at Baker Hughes’ facilities in Nailsea, Bristol, UK.
Baker Hughes Comments on the New Contract with Petrobras in the Oil & Gas Industry
According to Adyr Tourinho, Vice President of Oilfield Equipment for Latin America at Baker Hughes, the new contract with Petrobras for the supply of equipment in the Campos Basin is the result of the company’s long-standing commitment to Petrobras and is based on its history of supplying subsea production systems for projects in Brazil.
Baker Hughes’ technology is designed to be lightweight and compact to withstand the most demanding conditions found in Brazilian water environments, such as those in the Campos Basin. The company’s Executive Vice President of Oilfield Equipment, Neil Saunders, also commented on the contract with Petrobras regarding the Campos Basin.
He states that the company is capable of providing world-class subsea solutions, having the experience and skills to bring flexibility, versatility, and scalability to complex projects.
