According to the entity, fifteen workers had suspected contamination in the last two weeks. Six of them tested positive for the disease. Seven people are still awaiting test results. Two already showed symptoms.
Sindipetro-NF claims that workers claim that testing is also carried out on arrival, so that they do not take the virus home. “On the 10th of August, ten workers disembarked normally at the shift change and none of them showed symptoms. However, at home, three workers showed symptoms, two with a positive result for covid-19 and one awaiting a test result”, said the union.
Also according to the entity, the Internal Commission for Accident Prevention (CIPA) of the P-12 requested a reduction in the number of people on board. The unit is in an accelerated deactivation process, which has caused the number of workers to rise from 60 to 79, when the safe limit would be a maximum of 62.
CIPA also requested that a company test P-12 workers. The shipment took place on the 17th, despite Petrobras' Organizational Response Structure (EOR), which monitors the new coronavirus, having informed that this "is not the protocol that is being applied and that it adequately monitors the workforce regarding health condition and symptoms of covid-19”.
“There is a serious complaint that workers who have had covid-19 are being fired after being discharged. This is causing embarrassment among the category when reporting that they have symptoms and many do not even report it for fear of losing their jobs. Therefore, the need to comply with the decision of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) which determines the issuance of Occupational Accident Communication (CAT) for contaminated workers. This was already requested from the management, which did not respond”, I add.
Finally, Sindipetro-NF denounced the removal of a member of the CIPA who would have made "strong demands" on Petrobras and stated that it has "put pressure on authorities linked to the Ouro Negro Operation to take concrete actions demanding that oil companies take action to confront the pandemic of the new coronavirus”.
Petrobras P-12 platform auctioned
The P-12 is one of the platforms that was auctioned and is still anchored, so Petrobras is rushing to deliver the unit, because the cost of the entire process of removing the platform must exceed R$ 100 per day.
