The Brazilian oil company Petrobras announced this afternoon (22/12) in a material fact, which confirmed the presence of excellent quality oil with the drilling of well 9-BUZ-48D-RJS, located in the extreme northwest of the Búzios field, in Santos Basin. According to the report, the well is located 188 km from the city of Rio de Janeiro and was drilled at a water depth of 1.850 meters. Tests carried out from a depth of 5.540 meters confirmed the presence of oil reservoirs of excellent quality.

Petrobras is the operator (90%) of the consortium in the Búzios field, in partnership with CNOOC (5%) and CNODC (5%).
