Petrobras informed last night (01/03) that the messages circulating on social media showing a Petrobras gas station in Paraguay selling additive gasoline for R$ 2.62 are false. According to the Brazilian oil company, it has been two years since the company has had a network of gas stations in the neighboring country. Fake News About the Sale and Price of Petrobras Gasoline in Paraguay
The information spread like wildfire on social media, especially on Facebook, and left many drivers outraged. Nonetheless, the story is nothing but balderdash.
One only needs to look at the posts to see that they exhibit various characteristics of fake news on the internet, such as vagueness (there are no dates), alarmism, spelling errors, and the lack of reliable sources.
Additionally, given the fuel situation in Brazil, various false stories about the subject have circulated online.
In summary: the story claiming that gasoline exported from Brazil is sold for R$2.62 in Paraguay in 2021 is false! The video, in fact, is old and has been circulating on the internet for at least since 2018.
Furthermore, when searching for the price of a liter of gasoline in Paraguay, it can be verified that the price is significantly higher than that suggested in the video, ranging from R$4 to R$6.55. In other words, the story is nothing but fake news! Do not share.
