The Petrobras P-48 Platform Was One of the Units That the Company Placed in Hibernation Due to the Coronavirus Crisis
Recently, Petrobras placed several oil and gas production units in hibernation due to the coronavirus crisis and its effects. Among the units that were put into hibernation was the company’s FPSO P-48. After almost a month stopped, the FPSO resumed operations in the Barracuda and Caratinga fields, according to the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) to PetroleumHoje.

According to the National Agency of Petroleum, the fields currently in hibernation as of yesterday are as follows: Caioba, Camorim, Guaricema, Garoupa, Cherne, Namorado, Bagre, Atum, Xaréu, Curimã, Espada, Ubarana, Oeste de Ubarana, Agulha, Barracuda, Carantinga, Aguilhada, Angelim, Aruari, Atalaia Sul, Brejo Grande, Ilha Pequena, Barrinha, Barrinha Leste, Barrinha Sudoeste, Poço Verde, Serra do Mel, Serra Vermelha, Vale do Quiricó, Lagoa do Paulo Sul, Juriti, Manati, Peroá, Cangoá, Merluza, and Lagosta.
Additionally, recent data from ANP reported that the P-48 produced 18 thousand barrels of oil per day and 420 thousand m³ of natural gas per day in the month of March. Also, in the two fields of Barracuda and Caratinga, there is another FPSO installed; however, it remains with production halted.
