Santos Port is inaugurating another truck yard next week with more than 300 parking spaces available
The start of operations for the Santos Port truck yard with over 300 spaces was announced by the Minister of Ports, Antonio Henrique Silveira, on Monday night, during a meeting in Brasília with Ministers César Borges (Transport) and Antônio Andrade (Agriculture), along with representatives of agricultural producers and exporters. The meeting aimed to analyze the impact of the Government’s actions to coordinate the flow of the harvest through Santos.

Initially, the area will have a “temporary accreditation,” according to Docas. This will occur because the Port Authority requires that the truck yard be paved. Currently, its surface is unpaved, but the local government has authorized operations. The paving work will take place after the harvest flow period.
Although it belongs to the Cosan Group, which has sugar terminals in Santos, the yard will be open to any cargo and any operator destined for Santos Port, Rumo Logística stated.

Truck Scheduling
According to the port authority, scheduling the arrival of trucks at Santos Port has been carried out since 2014, primarily aiming to assist the flow of the national harvest, which begins in February and peaks in March and April.
In the second half, in August, the highest number of road vehicles arrives, and to prevent trucks from forming queues on the highways, adjustments are made to the scheduled period, with a mandatory stop at accredited yards outside the Port for screening and parking until the trucks are called to the terminals.
