Starting this week, students from the state network of São Paulo can choose courses from the Provão Paulista 2025, which offers more than 15 thousand places in higher education.
The process, conducted online, ensures direct access to the main public universities in São Paulo, such as USP, Unesp, Unicamp, Fatec, and Univesp.
Course options must be selected by the deadline before the exam, scheduled for November 4 and 5, 2025.

Each participant can select up to four courses, respecting the limit of two per institution. The selection is mandatory for all students who will take the final stage of the exam this year.
This initiative is part of an educational policy from the São Paulo Department of Education (Seduc-SP) that aims to expand access to higher education, bringing public schools closer to the state’s universities.
How Course Selection Works in Provão Paulista
Students can access the registration system via the official website provaopaulistaseriado.vunesp.com.br.
State network students must enter their Student Registration (RA), while others use their CPF.
Right at the beginning, the system requests information about the family per capita income, an essential step for the registration process.
According to the pedagogical undersecretary of Seduc-SP, Daniel Barros, the selection system has become more intuitive.
“Students start choosing their courses with a really cool new feature. In the selection process, they will easily be able to see the courses that have units closest to their homes, using a filter available on the Provão page,” he stated.
This new tool facilitates planning and encourages young people to compete for geographically accessible courses, avoiding long commutes.
Public Education and Real Opportunities in Higher Education
Overall, Provão Paulista 2025 offers 15,717 spots distributed among various prestigious institutions:
- 1,500 spots at University of São Paulo (USP);
- 934 at São Paulo State University (Unesp);
- 327 at Campinas State University (Unicamp);
- 10,000 at Technology Colleges (Fatecs);
- 2,956 at Virtual University of the State of São Paulo (Univesp).
In the first semester of 2025, spots will primarily be available for USP, Unesp, Unicamp, and part of the Fatecs.
Opportunities at Univesp and the remaining spots at Fatecs will be offered in the second semester, for students who do not enter during the first call.
This dynamic reinforces Provão Paulista’s commitment to expanding opportunities and democratizing education, allowing multiple chances for enrollment throughout the year.
Seriated Process: A New Model for Accessing University
Provão Paulista Seriado is an evaluation system that allows direct admission to university based on performance throughout high school.
Instead of a single eliminatory exam, students are assessed in three stages, at the end of each school year. Thus, the process values continuous learning and reduces the typical pressure of traditional entrance exams.
Since its inception, the model has already provided nearly 50 thousand direct spots for higher education in São Paulo. In 2025, it reaches its third edition, consolidating itself as one of the most innovative public education programs in Brazil.
