Raízen, Joint Venture Formed Between Cosan And Shell, Aims For A Market Value Of R$ 90 Billion
With the expectation of Raízen’s IPO, shares of Cosan, which is already listed, closed yesterday’s session up 3.04%, with investors hoping that the operation will help demonstrate the company’s value to the market.
Banks estimate a market value for Raízen, the joint venture formed between Cosan and Shell, in the area of R$ 90 billion, already placing the company among the most valuable on B3. The IPO is part of Cosan’s plans to list its subsidiaries as part of its corporate restructuring process, aimed at unlocking company value.
In July of last year, the Cosan group announced the reorganization aimed at simplifying its corporate structure, a long-standing demand from investors who felt that the relationship between the various companies was confusing.
In 2020, the group attempted to list Compass, its subsidiary in the natural gas segment, which focuses its participation in Comgás. However, they had to backtrack due to finding more selective investors asking for discounts compared to the price desired by the company.
