The Renault Kwid E-Tech Is About to Arrive in the Country and Promises to Steal the Title of the Cheapest Electric Car in Brazil from the JAC E-JS1, Also Gaining Highlight for Being a Highly Economical Car.
Renault announced this Thursday (14) the launch of its new electric car Renault Kwid E-Tech, the fully electric version of the subcompact that will arrive in August with a price of R$ 142,900. Due to this price, the French novelty, which is being imported from China, will take the position of the cheapest electric car in Brazil, which belonged to the JAC E-JS1, which is currently priced at R$ 164,900. According to the manufacturer, the pre-sale of the Renault Kwid E-Tech is starting now, at a price of R$ 999, and the announced price is guaranteed until July, when it may be adjusted.
Renault Kwid E-Tech Has a Range of 298 km
The manufacturer will make the cheapest electric car in Brazil available through Renault on Demand, its subscription program, in plans from 12 to 48 months, thus covering expenses with IPVA, maintenance, and insurance. In the launch presentation, the French manufacturer emphasized the lower maintenance costs compared to the more common versions.
According to the company, for the first three years, the inspections are completely free. The warranty is three years, as with the other configurations, while the factory coverage for the batteries of the electric car is 8 years. The manufacturer also highlighted that the cost per km driven of the Renault Kwid E-Tech is only R$ 0.06, which is a significant advancement compared to R$ 0.48 for the combustion engine version, considering that gasoline has an average price of R$ 7.30/L in Brazil.

The manufacturer also highlights that the electric model has the advantage of sharing many components with the combustion version, which contributes to it being the cheapest electric car in Brazil due to reduced maintenance costs. In fact, the first three inspections of the vehicle cost only half the price charged for the Kwid with a flex engine.
