The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Astral 2024 officially lands in the Brazilian market as one of the brand’s main bets for the mid-displacement custom segment. With a two-cylinder engine, classic look, modern handling, and detailed finishing, the bike combines traditional charm with technological features, without sacrificing cost-effectiveness.

Built with premium components and designed for long trips, the Super Meteor 650 is offered in three versions: Astral (entry-level), Interstellar (mid-range), and Celestial (top model). The Astral version, evaluated in this article, comes with a 47 hp engine, assisted and slipper clutch, inverted Showa suspension, Tripper navigation system, and attention-grabbing design wherever it goes.

The Super Meteor 650 Astral is equipped with a 648 cm³ parallel twin engine, with SOHC and eight valves, delivering 47 hp of power and 5.4 kgfm of torque. The transmission is six-speed and the clutch is of the assisted and slipper type, ensuring smooth shifts even in sudden downshifts.

Weighing 241 kg in running order and with a 15.7-liter tank (including 3L reserve), the bike surprises with its lightweight handling in urban traffic. Fuel consumption can vary from 23 to 32 km/l, depending on riding style, while top speed is electronically limited to 160 km/h.

Refined Cycling and High Comfort

The major structural innovation of the Super Meteor is the adoption of the 43 mm inverted Showa front suspension, with 120 mm of travel. The rear features two shock absorbers with 101 mm of travel and five levels of preload adjustment. The alloy wheels have 19″ in the front and 16″ in the rear, with tubeless tires measuring 100/90 and 150/80, respectively.

The seat is split, with a saddle-style shape for the rider and a low height (74 cm from the ground), resulting in ideal ergonomics for long trips. The forward footpegs, wide and rearward handlebars, and low center of gravity enhance riding comfort.

Retro Design with Premium Finishing

The look of the Super Meteor 650 is one of its major attractions. The headlights and taillight are LED, featuring a classic round shape. The Astral version comes in three solid colors (black, blue, or green) and can be personalized with accessories like a windscreen, platform footpegs, and engine guards, as seen in the model evaluated.

The dual chrome exhaust with straight side tips gives a striking presence, while the wide tank with a chrome logo and embossed finishing reinforces its retro DNA. The bike also features a center stand as standard, USB type A socket, and chrome rounded mirrors.

Dashboard, Technology, and Connectivity

The dashboard is a mix: an analog speedometer with LCD digital display and a TFT screen exclusively for the Tripper Navigation system, which displays Google Maps directions when connecting the phone via Bluetooth. It also includes a gear indicator, fuel gauge, clock, odometers, and an economy warning light (Eco).

Despite being comprehensive, the dashboard lacks a trip computer with average consumption and range, which is one of the major downsides of the model — along with the absence of belt drive, which would be more suitable for the cruiser style.

Noticed Negative Points

Despite the good level of delivery, some aspects were criticized:

  • Heats up significantly in heavy traffic, transferring heat to the rider’s legs
  • Turn signals with conventional bulbs, contrasting with the LED setup
  • Dashboard lacking average consumption or range information
  • Chain final drive, less quiet and durable than the belt drive
  • Passenger seat narrow and uncomfortable for long trips

Price, Versions, and Warranty

Royal Enfield offers the Super Meteor 650 Astral at a suggested price of R$ 33,990 (entry-level version). The Interstellar version sells for R$ 34,490, while the Celestial (top model) costs R$ 34,990, already including a windscreen, sissy bar, and Deluxe seat.

The Fipe table value of the pre-owned Astral hovers around R$ 31,650. The brand also offers 3 years of warranty with no mileage limit. The insurance, according to a quote from Protect Me, can start at R$ 634, varying depending on the rider’s profile and place of residence.

Is It Worth Buying the Super Meteor 650?

With a well-defined proposal, striking visual, and a package that combines mechanical reliability, comfort, and style, the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Astral 2024 stands out as one of the best cruiser options in the price range of up to R$ 35,000. The lack of certain technological refinements is offset by cost-effectiveness and the exclusive character of the model in the Brazilian market.

A minha, ando de boa, vários tipos de terreno e trânsito, o máximo que consegui, foi 23km/l, não que seja ruim, mas acredito que não passa disso, a não ser que seja no guincho!

32km, putsss, andando a 40km?
Rodo de 120 a 130 e não passa de 20km. O Max que cheguei foi a 22km.
