According to data from Absolar – Brazilian Association of Photovoltaic Solar Energy, Brazil reaches a new record in the photovoltaic solar energy sector. Investments in the area exceed 13 billion reais. This year, entrepreneurs and companies in the segment project that industries from various sectors will continue investing.

Investments by Companies in the Segment:
Aldo Solar, an equipment distributor, earned more than 1.6 billion reais last year and now estimates that private investment in 13,000 concessions throughout Brazil will exceed 4.5 billion reais.
Aldo Pereira Teixeira, founder and president of the company, says, “Our goal is to grow 100%. We expect to provide over 1GW of power, with more than 100,000 solar power generators sold throughout Brazil.”

Energy Generation Capacity of Brazil:
In terms of clean and renewable energy generation capacity, Brazil currently has 7.5 gigawatts (GW) of photovoltaic solar energy to generate electricity, incorporating large factories and small to medium systems installed on rooftops, external walls, and land (distributed generation), which accounts for more than half of the installed capacity of the Itaipu Hydroelectric Plant, the largest in Brazil and the second largest in the world.
