In 2020, the Solar Energy Sector Attracted More Than R$ 13 Billion in Investments. For 2021, Sector Should Surpass
According to data from Absolar – Brazilian Association of Photovoltaic Solar Energy, Brazil reaches a new record in the photovoltaic solar energy sector. Investments in the area exceed 13 billion reais. This year, entrepreneurs and companies in the segment project that industries from various sectors will continue investing.

The world has bet on green hydrogen as the fuel of the future, but now faces the side effect: producing 1 kilogram requires about 9 liters of ultrapure water, and the largest projects on the planet are precisely in the driest regions of the Earth, where water is already scarce for people.
Tecnova Renováveis has also committed to contributing to the sector in 2021. The company announced that it will invest more than 100 million reais in generation, transmission, and distribution energy projects across Brazil. With the signed project, the company will expand its installed capacity fivefold by the end of December, from 10 MW to 50 MW.
Energy Generation Capacity of Brazil:
In terms of clean and renewable energy generation capacity, Brazil currently has 7.5 gigawatts (GW) of photovoltaic solar energy to generate electricity, incorporating large factories and small to medium systems installed on rooftops, external walls, and land (distributed generation), which accounts for more than half of the installed capacity of the Itaipu Hydroelectric Plant, the largest in Brazil and the second largest in the world.
