Company Plans to Develop Mini Electric Truck with 500 Horsepower Promising to Compete with Large Pickups Like Ford F-150 and RAM Models.
A new mini electric truck is entering the automotive market and promises to contend with the most powerful. Telo, an electric vehicle manufacturer, will develop a smaller model, in the style of a Mini Cooper, yet with the capacity of a Toyota Tacoma.
Mini Electric Truck Will Deliver 500 Horsepower
With a design focused on the Mini Cooper footprint, the model, which will compete with large pickups, is compact since it does not require a front engine compartment and a gas tank in the back.
Instead, the batteries are located beneath the floor and the motors, which have a total output of 380 kW, providing the truck with 500 horsepower. Like other recent electric models, the Telo is also quick, able to go from 0 to 95.5 km/h in 4 seconds and reach a top speed of 201 km/h.

The 2026 electric Vitara arrives in Brazil and proves that Suzuki is not leaving: 4×4 traction, 184 hp, 61 kWh LFP battery, 293 km range, R$ 259,000, and a trunk capacity of 224 L.

With plenty of space, the mini electric truck seats 5 people and also has a 1.5-meter bed in the rear. If necessary, the seats can be folded down to increase size and make the model a family electric truck.
The mini electric truck, which promises to compete with large pickups, has a range of approximately 565 km and charges from 20% to 80% in 20 minutes.
Mini Electric Truck Expected to Hit the Market in 2026
According to information from The Verge, the co-founder and CTO of the electric car manufacturer, Forrest North, revealed that the company has a working prototype that will be showcased later this month in June to demonstrate the model’s capabilities. Subsequently, the mini electric truck will enter the validation and homologation process. There will be around 500 or more units of the first models from Telo Trucks.
The estimated delivery is in 2025. The vehicle will be produced in the United States, and mass production is expected to start in 2026. The model will have a base price of US$ 49,999, which in direct conversion to our currency is around R$ 240,000 at the current exchange rate. This is the price before possible subsidies, meaning the price could decrease.
Mini Electric Trucks Are Gaining Popularity
In addition to Telo, which promises to compete with popular pickups, Chinese company Keyu Motors has launched a new small electric truck that can carry up to 2 tons. The model developed by the Chinese draws attention for its attractive price and a trick up its sleeve, the addition of a second rear axle, allowing the transport of heavier loads.
According to the manufacturer, the model does not disappoint and can carry up to 2 tons, with 800 kg on the front axle and 1,200 kg on the rear axles. To put this into perspective, this number is more than double that achieved by the electric Ford F-150 Lightning, which has a maximum capacity of 907 kg.
To achieve this feat, the Chinese electric model with 4×6 drive features 4 kW motors. The power of the mini electric truck is not its strong suit.
Thus, like the Chinese microcars, the low-cost vehicle reaches only 45 km/h top speed. In China, the truck is being sold for an initial price of US$ 4,200, just over R$ 21,000 at the current exchange rate. The big question for the vehicle is the import taxes for the model from other countries, which could require a larger investment for costs at the end of the line.
